MAMP default This button will reset the ports for Apache, Nginx and MySQL to 8888, 7888 and 8889. 80 & 3306 This button will set the ports to the value commonly used on the internet. If you want MAMP to be available via the Internet please make sure that the configured ports are opened in your firewall. If you just upgraded from MAMP Free, you most likely have already made a website in your localhost. To create additional web sites you should create additional hosts. You should have one host in your host list for each web site you create.

  • Hi Balloon in a wastelandspiter games.

I try to run wordpress on my macbook, and keep getting a error establishing a database connection. I try to write database name, username, password, and leave database host as localhost and leave table prefix as wp_ and seems can’t make connection to database. When I install mamp didn’t give me any error. after that I start the server and tab the ‘Open WebStart page’ and it open ‘http://localhost:8888/MAMP/?language=English’ from here I type http://localhost:8888/wordpress and it open ‘http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config.php?step=0’ I try to follow screen and enter the values that ask to me as I describe above and didn’t make mysql connection. Any idea how to make it to run?

Mamp Localhost 8888
  • Typing localhost:8888 into my Chrome browser gives me a listing of all of my WordPress sites in my htdocs folder. However when I click on the link for any of the sites, I get the “Error establishing a database connection” message. Vpns for mac freeheavenlyboard. This is true for any of the links in the listing. This is a new problem for me

  • Possibly the database server process (mySQL) is not running. Does the task manager show it running ? Do your website error and log files say anything, like we know there is an error, but what kind of error ?
    Can MAMP support help ?

Is MAMP running? Have you updated anything? On a Mac?
