The CPC1596 is an optically isolated MOSFET Gate Driver that requires no external power supply. It regulates an input voltage up to 570V to 12.2V for internal use. It is specifically designed for low-duty-cycle switching and low frequency operation of external power MOSFETs with 4nF of gate capacitance. The CPC1596 can be used at up to 110°C. As far as the MOSFET is concerned, an optocoupler is just a transistor. As far as the microcontroller is concerned, an optocoupler is just an LED.
